Making my way back to Colorado

Kokopelli
Family and friends may be asking, is this real? Yes it is. This is the new way of communicating for me to you. An earlier act of communication this summer made me realize… short and sweet. So from this day forward, family and friends will receive a condensed version of what is taking place within my life. If one wants to know more you will have to be the initiator. Enjoy and let me know what you think. As you all know, it has been awhile since my job ended late August for the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory surveying for Northern Goshawks(NOGO) and their

nests. Feelings are mixed about this seperation. It is nice not living a Laurel & Hardy or an Abbot & Costello skit on a daily basis when interacting with my former coworker. The flip side of this is, I’m saddened by the fact I am no longer able to wake up, step out of my van in either the Gila, Apache-Sitgreves, or Tonto National Forest, stretch while taking in the stillness of the morning and wondering, what will I encounter while walking amongst the gentle giants (Ponderosa Pine) today.

Nevertheless, the experience was great, the knowledge gained–invaluable, and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to work indirectly with the NOGO and experience the amazing biodiversity the Gila, Apache-Sitgreves, and Tonto Forest has offer. Making my way back to Colorado I visited a fascinating place in Albuquerque, NM, Petroglyph National Monument. The petroglyphs are considerably different then the ones depicted in the canyons of Utah—Enjoy.
